PRAISE GOD!!! We are so very excited about what the Holy Spirit is doing both in and through us. We are witnessing the power of God changing lives through the songs and musical gifts that He has placed within us, and how we praise Him! We diligently continue to record and rehearse in preparation for our live appearances. Therefore, when we come to your country, state, city, or town to see you, we want everyone who comes out to have a great time! The desired outcome is that as we give God and you our 1AC family our best, together, we all can give Him the glory! So, we continue to thank God, the Father, as we move forward on this awesome journey of ministry. And we appreciate you the 1AC Crew for coming along on the ride with us! HISTORY
1-A-Chord was formed in June of 1993 in Hapeville, Georgia and has traveled the United States sharing their sound with those in Concert Halls, shelters and prisons across the country. They have been featured on the Bobby Jones Gospel Countdown and are often found performing in their hometown of Atlanta as well as nationally and internationally.
Believing that the Word of God is timeless and can be expressed through the ministry of song, 1-A-Chord offers a sound that mixes the influences of the Jazz, Blues, R&B and Reggae genres with that of Contemporary Gospel to produce cutting edge selections that convey their collective love for the Lord. Each member is a talented musician in their own right who join together offering their writing and instrumental expertise to praise and glorify Him.
A writer once said that a name was an outward indicator of an inward identity because it represented things past, present and future. Things past because a name is in most cases a statement of heritage; the present because you contribute to the current age; the future because the uniqueness of your being creates a legacy to be remembered for years to come. Trusting that all things past, present and future are from God, 7 Christian men came together sharing their musical abilities to form the group, 1-A-Chord. The true essence of the group is captured, in both the spiritual and the relational realms, by simply looking at their name.
On the spiritual level, the name represents the Holy Trinity. The number “1” denotes unity. The letter “A”, the first letter of the alphabet, is often used to reflect excellence and the word “Chord” denotes several notes played simultaneously to produce a melodious sound. These three components are taken in reference to God the Father, The Son Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit in the spiritual interpretation. From the relational perspective, each member of the group comes together on one accord to present to The Lord songs of praise, seasons of study and acts of service that glorify Him and draw mankind to Him. The emphasis on unity, integrity, brotherhood and love are additional characteristics that make 1-A-Chord different from other groups in their genre
