A writer once said that a name was an outward indicator of an inward identity because it represented things past, present and future. Things past because a name is in most cases a statement of heritage; the present because you contribute to the current age; the future because the uniqueness of your being creates a legacy to be remembered for years to come. Trusting that all things past, present and future are from God, 7 Christian men came together sharing their musical abilities to form the group, 1-A-Chord. The true essence of the group is captured, in both the spiritual and the relational realms, by simply looking at their name. 

On the spiritual level, the name represents the Holy Trinity. The number “1” denotes unity. The letter “A”, the first letter of the alphabet, is often used to reflect excellence and the word “Chord” denotes several notes played simultaneously to produce a melodious sound. These three components are taken in reference to God the Father, The Son Jesus Christ, and The Holy Spirit in the spiritual interpretation. From the relational perspective, each member of the group comes together on one accord to present to The Lord songs of praise, seasons of study and acts of service that glorify Him and draw mankind to Him. The emphasis on unity, integrity, brotherhood and love are additional characteristics that make 1-A-Chord different from other groups in their genre
